In reply to Eric Nepean • May 16, 2016 Check out Lyn for the Mac. The tool focus on both photo organizing, and photo editing, so you will find loads of features for both purposes. Its editing features include annotation, Multipage TIF editing, color depth, enhance, IPTC editing, effects and filters, lossless rotation and much more. Dear Folks, I am shooting a few Sony cameras (A7rii for advanced stuff, RX100 iv for daily snapshots), mostly in RAW, but sometimes in JPEG. I was an iPhoto / Aperture user on my Mac, but unfortunately they no longer work properly on my computer. So I started to use the new Photos package. Photos is actually pretty good for me. It has far more editing capabilities buried inside it than many first suspect, and it has almost everything I want, except good tools to retouch portraits. I've also added some good extension to Photos -- like the DxO Photos extension, which is great for landscape work. But I keep on reading how Photos is terrible, so I tried out some other packages. Lightroom -- hated it with a passion (really clunky, slow, and unreliable). A few other great RAW processing / editing packages -- DxO, Capture One, etc. -- but they don't seem to do file management very well. What else should I be looking at? Again, I know Lightroom is a popular option, but I honestly thought it was awful -- definitely not elegant, reliable, or fast. What else, besides Photos with some good Extensions, should I look at for editing RAW files / managing large photo libraries / etc.? I miss Aperture. I really wish Apple kept it.
